Day 1: Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park (220km/5hrs)

 

Morning transfer to the airport to board the flight for Guwahati. Upon arrival meet and assist by our representative at the airport followed by a drive to Kaziranga National Park, the home of the “One Horned Rhinoceros”. Upon arrival check into the wildlife resort. Overnight stay at resort.

Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Nature and Tiger reserve – is home to more than 80% of the world’s population of the Great One Horned Rhinoceros. It has a significant population of Asian Elephant and Water Buffalos living here. It has a wide variety of flora and avifauna in a unique habitat of mainly grasslands, close tangled and thorny rattan cane, Elephant grass and tall trees of evergreen forest and numerous water bodies. More than 400 species of birds both resident and migratory are found here. Kaziranga has been identified by Birdlife International as an Important Bird Area.

 

Day 2: Kaziranga National Park

 

Early morning we drive to the Elephant ride point. We will see the National Park on Elephant back. The Central Range or Kohora as locally known has a mix of Grassland and Woodland. It is home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park.

In mammals, apart from the Rhino, other species found are, hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. Return to the Lodge for breakfast. Midmorning visit local village to see their way of life on your own. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Post lunch go for a Jeep Safari inside Central range of the National Park. Overnight stay at resort.

 

Day 3: Kaziranga National Park

Today after a leisurely breakfast we shall drive to the Burapahar Range to walk inside the National Park. The track starts from a place called Pani Juri Camp and goes up-to the banks of River Brahmaputra and back.

Through the midst of the Woodland, that Burapahar is so famous for, the guests mostly gets to see Capped Langurs, Elephants and the Great Indian Hornbill and if lucky you may get to see Hollock Gibbon. We shall track for about 2 hrs with our in-house naturalist and 02 forest guards, after which we shall come back to our Lodge for Lunch.

Post lunch go for a Jeep Safari inside the Westarn range of the Kaziranga National Park. Overnight stay at resort.

 

Day 4: Kaziranga National Park

After a leisurely breakfast we will enter the Eastern Range of the National Park for Jeep safari. Eastern range consists mostly of woodland and is known for is wide variety of Birds. It is home to a variety of migratory birds and is also known to have large population of Wild Elephants.

We will return to the Lodge for Lunch. Post lunch go for another Jeep Safari in central range. Overnight stay at resort.

 

Day 5: Kaziranga National Park

Morning jeep safari in the central zone. Return to Lodge for lunch. Post lunch go for an afternoon Jeep Safari in the Western Range. Overnight stay at resort.

 

Day 6: Kaziranga National Park

 

In the morning we shall go for an Elephant ride. Return to lodge for breakfast. Mid morning visit a Tea plantation walk. After a leisurely breakfast we will enter the western Range of the National Park for Jeep safari. We will return to the Lodge for lunch. Post lunch go for a Jeep Safari in central range. Overnight stay at resort.

 

Day 7: Kaziranga National Park

Morning jungle safari to the Eastern range of Kaziranga National Park. Later return to the resort. After lunch jeep safari to the central range. Overnight stay at resort.

 

Day 8: Kaziranga to Guwahati, Airport Drop (220km/5hrs)

After breakfast transfer to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey.
